Pure nature
In the cover layers of a Nilson, only pure natural materials are used. In our opinion, wool, cotton and horsehair are the best materials to sleep on. The characteristics of these materials are unsurpassed and they have already been proven in nature as the best humidity and climate regulators for thousands of years. They are materials that breathe. Therefore, in a Nilson you will always lie in a pleasant temperature and a dry, airy sleeping environment. Furthermore, wool, cotton and horsehair are supple and so they follow and support the shape of your body. These durable materials guarantee a long life span.
Wool
Pure wool, such as Nilson uses in its beds, is strong and has the unique characteristic of cooling when it is hot and heating up when it is cold. Wool, therefore, is an excellent temperature regulator. Apart from this, wool is also waterproof and fireproof. Another, no less important, characteristic of wool is that it is elastic and therefore adjusts itself easily to your body shape.
Cotton
Soft cotton makes an important contribution to the airy and dry climate inside a Nilson. Because every human being perspires, a bed must be able to remove this liquid properly. Natural materials breathe differently from synthetic materials. It is common knowledge that a cotton shirt on a hot summer day feels more pleasant than synthetic clothing. Cotton, therefore, is very good at removing liquid, as well as letting in air.
Horsehair
Horsehair is an expensive and valuable product. Horsehair is hollow and is therefore excellent at absorbing and removing liquid. In addition, horsehair serves as an air transporter. Thus, the hollow hair removes liquid and ensures a supply of new air. It functions as the bed's natural air conditioning. The horsehair that Nilson uses comes from the manes and the tail. This hair is carefully cleaned and it is a clean and elastic material. Horsehair provides an important contribution to the pleasant climate of a Nilson.
